This was witnessed through giant space bridges on Velocitron by Brakedown, Clocker and Dirt Boss, on the planet Animatros by Backstop, Undermine and Brimstone, and on Earth (Transformers: Galaxy Force 1.42). When Starscream inserted the third Cyber Planet Key into the Omega Lock, it opened portals on Earth, the speed planet and Animatros, the jungle planet to the Grand Black Hole, which Breakdown and Clocker witnessed (Transformers: Galaxy Force 1.27).Īs the Grand Black Hole continued to enlarge, Primus attempted to seal it. The qualification round started with Override, Dirt Boss, Ransack, Crumplezone, Optimus Prime, Hot Shot, Red Alert, Landmine, Clocker and Brakedown participating. Ransack and Crumplezone were contacted by Megatron and were told to keep on eye on things, so they too decided to enter the race, either to win the cup, or at least cause as much damage as they could to the other racers.

After being unable to obtain the Planet Cup from Override himself, Optimus Prime endorsed Hot Shot's plan to win the cup in a race, with the other Autobots aiding him. Clocker and Brakedown were eager to help the Autobots. Optimus was upset that Hot Shot had become involved with the locals. During the race Ransack and Crumplezone caused a rockslide that buried Hot Shot, but he was saved when Optimus Prime, Vector Prime and Landmine arrived. Ransack and Crumplezone tricked Hot Shot and Dirt Boss into believing that a race between them would determine which of them would be allowed to race Override for the Planet Cup. In the episode 14, "Heroes", Red Alert contacted the Autobots on Earth and asked for Optimus Prime to join then on Velocitron. Out of gratitude for this, Clocker and Brakedown allied themselves with the Autobots (Space). When Ransack and Crumplezone threatened to assault Clocker and Brakedown while trying to extract information about the Cyber Planet Key at the behest of Megatron, the Autobot Hot Shot intervened to help them. A young racer, Clocker is the current protege of Brakedown, the oldest inhabitant of Velocitron. Velocitronian race car (which resembles a modified Ferrari F355)Ĭlocker is portrayed as a young racer from Velocitron and the protege of Brakedown.Ĭlocker first appeared in episode 6, "Space".Ī robot native to Velocitron, the speed planet, Clocker transforms into a car. So they're probably the first semi-deliberate case of a Cybertronian alt mode that looks more like a passenger earth vehicle than a space fantasy vehicle." There is no wound to big I will win with my strength!" Five Faces of Darkness establishes that conehead style jet modes were common millions of years ago on Cybertron. They look enough like real world jets to pass for futuristic jets.ģ. The conehead jets are not perfectly based on any real world jet.Ģ. Oh! Actually, I think I have the original case of a Transformer whose Cybertronian mode is a futuristic earth vehicle: the conehead jets!ġ. Maybe you could say that started with G1 Sandstorm or RiD Ultra Magnus.

My vague memory is that the characters took Earth modes in Armada but then in Energon the Transformers just naturally looked like Earth vehicles and you explicitly had Energon Rodimus looking like a futuristic Earth vehicle without having been to Earth.Īlthough. I mean, I GUESS that probably started in Energon. I think - for me - a Transformers mode generally reads as Cybertronian if it looks like something from Star Wars, Star Trek, or the old Battlestar Galactica.īut they started counting futuristic earth vehicles when 2005 hit and cars didn't look like TFTM and that had the backwards effect of causing NEW Cybertronian designs to look like futuristic earth cars. Hot Rod was modeled on a real concept car and Arcee seems to have taken inspiration from 1950s cars. Springer would be the only Triple Changer not to have an Earth mode if he's a Cybertronian vehicle but then Sandstorm has his alt mode on Paradron, which suggests it isn't an earth mode despite looking like one. Kup - I think - is shown to have his truck mode pre-Earth but Rodimus Prime's vehicle mode is shown to be a mass produced Earth vehicle line with the same flame decals.
#Transformers war for cybertron clocker vehicle mode tv#
Season 3 of the TV show doesn't help with this much. Click to expand.I'm not 100% sold that any of the 1986 Autobots were MEANT to have Cybertronian modes (except for Wheelie) although since 2005 has come and gone and we didn't get cars like that then I guess that's what they are.
